Sacred Monkey Forest or simply Monkey Forest, is located pretty close to Ubud. Less than a half-hour drive away. Mission behind Monkey Forest is Hindu philosophy of ‘Tri Hita Karana’. Basic idea is to maintain harmonic relationship between human and nature. Based on this concept the forest will be featured to create peace and harmony to all visitors. It’s home for 900 Balinese long tailed monkeys – or macaques. Sure, they can be pretty cute especially the babies, but they are also very sassy! You better take care for your belongings especially for phones cameras or glasses. The monkeys can get curious and they’re well trained at robbing and you’ll definitely be targeted, if you don’t watch out!
