Tegallalang Rice Terraces – An Agricultural Icon

📍 Tegallalang Rice Terraces, Bali

‘Tegallalang Rice Terraces’ are simply breathtaking. Without a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Bali and it’s not hard to understand why it counts to UNESCO World Heritage. Further it’s no wonder why it is one of the most instagrammed spots at Bali. The rice terraces get pretty busy, so if you want those pictures of empty rice fields, you’ll need to wake up early. Best time is around sunrise. To see the rice terrace at their greenest visit it in March, April, September or October, as this is when the rice is about to be harvested. Apart from that you can visit ‘Jatiluwih Rice Terraces’, which is away from the bustle, it’s quiet and more widely. Any case, make sure to take a bottle of water and some sunscreen or a hat with you. The sun is no joke at Tegallalang and you can get heat stroke pretty quickly.
